I would like to request prayer for myself and my parents regarding the trip to Cape Verde, Africa that I am wanting to take. Prayers that the Lord's will be revealed as my parents make this decision. I really want to go, so it will be hard to accept a "no". But I want the Lord's will to be done above what I want. Thanks for the prayers!

Strider,
Just wanted to let you know that we are praying for you. I am sure that the Lord will show you and your parents the right path to take here. Good for you in being willing to take "no" of the answer over what you would like. I know that that is not an easy thing to do!

Strider,
That would be awesome! I know how much you've always wanted to go to Africa.
I also know the Lord loves to be able to give us the desires of our heart. I hope He is able to grant u yours.
Here's a chearful thought for u though. If in the end His answer is no, maybe it's for a good reason. Like maybe you'd catch some deathly illness, or your plane gets highjacked! Am I making u feel any better?
Seriously though I will be praying for u, and wisdom for the desision your parents have to make.
My parents left the decision up to me... They said that it was okay if I went, but they wanted me to ask get the okay from the Lord. Well, I have. I've made my decision. I should really say, the Lord made my decision. I didn't have a complete peace about it until yesterday (Sunday), during my pastor's sermon. I have decided to go to Africa, pending my application acceptance. Hopefully that won't be too hard to get through, seeing as I have friends in high places. :)
Next prayer request: That I can raise the money needed for the trip, that the trip itself will go well, and that we would be able to lead many people to the saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Thanks for your former prayers, and please continue them in the future.

I am so glad you have gotten this chance to go to Africa! I will be praying for your trip, finances, etc. I know you are going to have a great time, but we are going to miss you while your gone (at least a little bit). Oh ya, how long are you going to be there for?

Shield Maiden,
I never answered your question about how long I'd be in Africa for. I've probably told you already anyway, but I'll post the answer too, just in case someone else wants to know also. Lord willing and the creek don't rise, or we don't have an ice storm ;), I'll be leaving here on May 18th, and getting back on June 8th or 9th. I actually leave the country on the 22nd of May, and get back into Boston on the 7th of June. Sorry it took so long to answer your question, sis.
